Kim Hites Antiques
A native of Pikeville, KY, Kim has 35+ years experience in the antiques and design business. With a 1,200 sq ft showroom space she has been curating and styling her one of a kind collection at The Thoroughbred Antique Gallery in Lexington, KY for the past 11 years.
After completing a B.S. in interior design in 1986 with an emphasis in historical interiors and working briefly in the industry in Lexington, she went back to Eastern KY. With a M.A. in education, Kim had a successful career for many years as a teacher and instructional supervisor before returning to her lifelong passion of antiques and design. She specializes in English and French antiques, and has been importing furniture, art, and accessories from Europe since 2012.
Traveling abroad, hosting shopping tours in France, and personally handpicking items has given Kim the unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the history of furnishings that she loves to convey to her clients.
Her design aesthetic is classic and inspired, yet comfortable and inviting. Kim appreciates good patina an recommends investing in quality pieces. She enjoys using antiques in fresh, contemporary ways. Her knowledge of high end residential design and fine antiques along with a keen eye and attention to detail, gives her the ability to help clients create the environment they were mean to have.
Being an accomplished pianist, Kim enjoys playing music and traveling for leisure when she’s not sourcing antiques or working on a design project. She lives in Lexington with her husband, Tim, and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Josie and Charlie.
